Nonwovens find extensive use in Furnishings. Generally, nonwovens are used as carpet backing. You walk on carpets every day and probably don’t even realize that there is a nonwoven supporting the underside of the carpet. Nonwoven carpet backing can provide noise reduction, comfort, a moisture barrier, and help with high traffic wear. Your mattress contains nonwovens, and they are used in various places throughout its construction. The most popular use of nonwovens in mattresses is to provide a flame retardant or flame resistant barrier fabric.

Polyester based nonwovens are used in various roofing applications, such as a carrier/substrate in the production of bitumen waterproof membranes. Our products are also used in hot asphalt and detailing for flat roofing applications. These products offer dimensional stability for ease of installation.

Nonwoven Advantages:

Autotech manufactures nonwoven fabrics for composite manufacturing process. During the vacuum bagging process to create parts from moulds, resin escapes the layers of the laminate. In order to collect the resin and evenly direct the airflow, a nonwoven layer is utilized between the laminate and the vacuum bag layers. Our product conforms closely to the mould and creates even pressure during vacuum bagging process. Once the process is complete, the fabric is discarded along with excess collected resin.
